The Empty Tomb

What was meant to be, the final rest;

You said, “No,” this was not Your place.

You were on the move.

The leaders thought that they had won,

Yet, they ordered for guards at a dead man’s tomb.

You were on the move.

Words written hundreds of years before your death, were now fulfilled – it was finished.

You were on the move.

The ground shook and the terrain trembled!

On that fateful day, your friends went to that tomb with spices and perfume – but they did not find You.

You were already on the move.

Sitting on the that 3000lb stone*, an angel who’s face shone like lightening and clothes like snow said,

“He isn’t here! He is risen from the dead, just as he said would happen. Come, see where his body was lying.”

You are victorious! Hosanna! Praise to the King of kings!

That stone wasn’t rolled away for Jesus to get out, it was rolled away so we could walk in. – Louie Giglio

He Is Risen!

* Scholars believe that the average tomb stone weighed between 1000-4000 pounds, depending on the size of the tomb. Based on the social standing of Joseph of Arimathea, it likely that the tomb he gave for Jesus’ burial would have been expensive and large.
