Good morning from The Eason Clan! I am sending out a second update, and addressing my first post, which some of you were unable to read. The reason for that is that I took down the post. The explanation quite simply is this: what I had written, I was not satisfied with. I wrote what I believe to be true, however, in keeping with The Eason Clan vision and honouring to God, I found that the majority of my writing focused on the negative, destructive impact of Hamas, and I wrote about information that can be widely found by any trusted news source, regarding the Israel and Hamas war.
The Eason Clan has never been about writing about a problem – and offering no solution. It’s like building a house, for example, and talking about a electrical issue on a self-help forum and leaving the discussion with only the problem listed; without any kind of solution, the discussion becomes just another ‘talk’ and stays in that rut.
A brief summary about my previous post: Hamas uses their own people, the civilians of Gaza as their bargaining chips on in a international stage, donned with cameras and scenes of war; purposely using them and putting them into harms way. Hamas started this recent war, by unleashing a brutal massacre of civilians in Israel; videos which I have seen that are revolting and downright evil, of which my blog will not discuss, due to some young readers that read my posts.
Bottom line: we stand with Israel. I believe whole heartedly that if anyone happens to side with Hamas, and how Palestine needs to defend itself, and that’s exactly what they did on October 7, 2023 – there is something seriously wrong with that mindsight. Supporting freedom and supporting terror are two wildly different things. Even the internet is abuzz with far left politicians, and celebrities’ who have traditionally been anti-Israel, crying foul on the attacks by Hamas.
As I write, Israel is preparing to launch a massive ground offensive into Gaza, even pre-warning their enemies and civilians that they are coming. They have done this by losing the element of surprise, something essential for successful armies. The IDF have been dropping leaflets, calling the residences in Gaza, using social media posts – they are literally informing the people where they will be attacking from, giving locations and laying out boundaries for safety- this is completely unheard of. Israel does not want civilian deaths, unlike their counterparts, Hamas and their supporters of terror. Hamas are not militants, as CBC news and BBC news refers to them; as if the definition “activist, partisan, enthusiast and extremist” accurately describes them. The proper, accurate term is terrorist: “bomber, assassin, gunmen,”, “a person who uses unlawful violence and intimidation, especially against civilians, in the pursuit of political aims.”(Dictionary.com)
As I mentioned in the beginning of this post, I do not want to write without offering a solution, at least one that I feel is the best. Here is my solution.
Pray.
Be praying for the peace of Jerusalem. Pray for Jewish people all over the world and their safety. Be praying for the innocent civilians in Israel and the Palestinian civilians in the Gaza strip and West Bank. There are many people in the Gaza strip that do not want Hamas as their rulers, however they are stuck in the middle.
Psalm 88:2-3 sums it up well, “Now hear my prayer, listen to my cry. For my life is full of troubles, and death draws near.”
Psalm 56. This Psalm was written by an Israelite, David (later King David) when he was on the run from King Saul of Israel (who was trying to kill him). David was captured by the Philistines, Israel’s mortal enemy, and brought into their land. I think this Psalm sums this whole situation of Israel and the war now, the hostages still in Gaza, and a reminder for us all.
O God, have mercy on me,
for people are hounding me.
My foes attack me all day long.
2 I am constantly hounded by those who slander me,
and many are boldly attacking me.
3 But when I am afraid,
I will put my trust in you.
4 I praise God for what he has promised.
I trust in God, so why should I be afraid?
What can mere mortals do to me?5 They are always twisting what I say;
they spend their days plotting to harm me.
6 They come together to spy on me—
watching my every step, eager to kill me.
7 Don’t let them get away with their wickedness;
in your anger, O God, bring them down.8 You keep track of all my sorrows.[b]
You have collected all my tears in your bottle.
You have recorded each one in your book.9 My enemies will retreat when I call to you for help.
This I know: God is on my side!
10 I praise God for what he has promised;
yes, I praise the Lord for what he has promised.
11 I trust in God, so why should I be afraid?
What can mere mortals do to me?12 I will fulfill my vows to you, O God,
Psalm 56
and will offer a sacrifice of thanks for your help.
13 For you have rescued me from death;
you have kept my feet from slipping.
So now I can walk in your presence, O God,
in your life-giving light
As tragic and evil these events have been in the last week, God is still in control. I saw an article written by a Jewish person in Israel that said, “Why did God allow this attack to happen?” My only thought:
Hamas terrorists and diabolical contributors- they made the plans, and they actioned it.
We do not understand why things happen, because many of us can not wrap our minds around it. Yet even in the midst of these trials, WE WILL NOT BE MOVED.
“But God is my help. The Lord keeps me alive! May the evil plans of my enemies be turned against them. Do as you promised and put an end to them. ” King David. Psalm 54. God is our helper, even in times of hurt and betrayal. We ask you now Lord, to rise up and protect your people.
